Our view: Leadership transition can present opportunities for strategic internal examination. As such, we see our role in the process as part conductor, part confidant. Working with our clients, we cultivate a heightened level of understanding to form the right questions, and identify key success metrics and cultural cues. This platform serves as a touchstone as we meet with candidates to understand their motivations, values and desires.
Search firms and their clients pin their success to the speed at which they fill a position or how closely an identified candidate aligns with the profile of the position sought. However, the reality is that human beings and organizations are quite complex, making search a highly subjective endeavor and not so cut and dry. It is during the more challenging engagements–when the candidate profile is a work in progress, client needs are not quite resolved or an organization is in transition–where we believe our clients benefit most from our experience and persistence, and where our firm shines.
