Alan Ferguson joins AOF as SVP, Development & Operations
The Terra Search Partners team is pleased to announce the recent completion of our search to assist The American Opportunity Foundation in placing Alan Ferguson as Senior Vice President, Development and Operations. Alan will be responsible for managing all the key development functions of AOF, including new development, partnerships, and asset management of the existing portfolio. Additionally, he will help lead AOF through succession with oversight of the subsidiary companies and their operations and supporting the administrative functions of the organization.
Previously, Alan served as Invest Atlanta’s Senior Vice President of Community Development and was responsible for leading the team dedicated to “building vibrant communities and increasing economic prosperity for all Atlantans.” This includes bringing together policy, strategy, and innovative tools to create and deliver diverse housing, development, and revitalization opportunities in the City of Atlanta. Alan also served as Senior Business Manager for Fannie Mae’s Lender Channel, responsible for customer relationships with lenders headquartered in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast. Alan’s real estate career spans nearly 27 years and Alan has completed transactions valued at over $4.5 billion. Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Banking & Finance from Morehouse College, an MBA from The Goizueta Business School at Emory University, and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University. Alan Ferguson has also completed doctoral studies in Real Estate Finance at Georgia State University.

Founded in 1983, its mission is to preserve, create, support, and sponsor quality affordable housing for moderate to low-income individuals and families. The Corporation has various subordinate non-profit entities, including AOF/Pacific Affordable Housing Corp. with offices in Huntington Beach, CA and Seattle, WA, as well as HSI Management Services, Inc. a management company that manages quality affordable multifamily housing throughout the southeastern United States.
